Thank you for taking time to consider Mike Schmidt’s ministry. He and his wife have served our church for eight years as Youth Pastor. They have showed themselves faithful and able ministers. It is my joy to recommend them to you as potential missionaries.
I have had the privilege to work with Bro. Schmidt and watch him grow as a leader. I believe that his skill set, ministry fervor, and love for people will serve him well for this particular field. I am excited to see how God will use it in the years ahead.

We believe that God calls missionaries out of local churches and the churches send them to the mission field. Our Missions Office receives the “gifts” (support) sent by the churches for the missionary or missionaries. We deposit & record all monies during the month and send receipts to the givers and detailed reports to the missionaries for their record of who sent how much for their support on the field. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT OF THE MONEY SENT TO EACH MISSIONARY GOES DIRECTLY TO THE MISSIONARY. The office itself is supported the same way the missionaries are, by churches sending support for our expenses.
The Missions Office sends the missionary a 1099 for their taxes each year and makes available different insurance policies at their request. The Missions Office is registered as a 501C non-profit corporation for tax and exemption purposes.

It is a joy to recommend Michael and Ashlie Schmidt as missionaries to Brazil. Bro. Michael and his family spent several weeks with veteran missionaries Tom and Cindy Brewer. The Brewers are sent missionaries of Southwest Baptist Church. It has been a blessing to watch these families work together for the sake of the gospel.
Michael and Ashlie were exemplary students of Heartland Baptist Bible College. They were faithful in attendance and ministry while members of Southwest Baptist Church. I recall Bro. Michael’s soul winning zeal and passion for the truth. It was not a surprise to hear that God had called them to be missionaries. Because of their continued connection to Heartland Baptist Bible College, I have been able to observe their growth and development as they served at South Knollwood Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas. They have been a great help to Pastor Jeremiah Metsinger and the members of the church.

I have known Mike Schmidt for almost 20 years, as I had the privilege of being his youth pastor when he was a teenager. Mike was always a leader amongst the other teens, and was always a team player. He served the Lord and others before himself, and he was always involved in the ministries of the church. He faithfully attended visitation, witnessed to teens in his public school, sang in the teen and adult choirs, and would lead in devotions or preach in the teen department when asked. He was also an encouragement to his kid brother and sister and helped to mold and shape them to follow Christ, and they both now serve full- time in their prospective churches.
Mike has always thrown himself completely into whatever the Lord has called him to do. When Mike felt the call to preach, he never faltered and was excited to attend Bible college, where he continued to grow in his faith. After graduating, Mike was faithful to serve the Lord in the church where God placed him.
I can truly say that I believe that Mike will continue to be a blessing wherever the Lord places him, and I am excited to see how God will use Him.
