<<First Name>>, Greetings!

We want to thank you for praying for safety in getting to Brazil! The trip here ended up being quite the experience! Everyone has adjusted well! The first few days back in Brazil, we stayed with the Brewers as we would go over and deep clean the house after having sat dormant for 11 months. We are very thankful for the Brewers and how much easier they have made the process of coming to Brazil and navigating the different challenges. Especially for watching over everything as we were stuck out of the country. For example, he took our car in, got it serviced, and kept up with the insurance.

We also want to thank you for praying about the process of temporary residency. After a handful of all-day trips (just driving to the immigration center from our town is a 3-hour round-trip), we got everything situated and sent off to Brasilia. We already got what would be the equivalent of a social security number here (called a CPF). We should get the official documents (called a carteira) for each person around the middle of January. This document is part of the process of getting to residency. That said, we can now get more traction on getting the container here. I have been communicating with a contact other missionaries have used here. It has been a lot of back and of forth with progress here and there. This is a process you want to ensure nothing is missed or stated wrong! It is looking hopeful that we will finalize all of this in January.

Right now, we are back in language studies and involved in the many facets of the ministry here. I have started leading the singing again, and we are working through a membership/attendance system. I have broken up the city into 11 sections for visitation. Every Saturday, I have been taking the boys out with me to visit. We have been going house to house and introducing ourselves, inviting them to church, and practicing Portuguese! I have been working to build relationships with different people around town and have made a good connection with a man named Mario. He has been a blessing to us in helping us with various forms, and we certainly want to be a blessing to him and see him saved.

The church has a big end-of-the-year banquet starting in about two hours. The Brewers use this event to help as a campaign to promote faithfulness to Sunday School. We want to start this next year strong! See the salvation and discipleship of new believers take place! The church theme for 2023 is from Hebrews 3:13, which is about Encouraging one another daily. It is every member's business to be an encouragement to other members and take responsibility for guests as they come in.
