It has been a great month! Finally, after two trips down to the Consulate in Miami, we were able to get our visas! Thank you for praying these past five months for this particular request. Now, with these in hand, when we get back to Brazil, we will have them converted over to temporary residency and then begin the process to obtain permanent residency.
Now there is only one more hurdle that we would continue to ask you to pray for, and that is concerning the mandates. While processing the visas, the man asked me why I had not listed a travel date to Brazil. I told him I was not sure because of the current state of the mandate. "Well, July would be good." he said. "If the mandate is still in effect in July and we cannot go, what happens?" I asked. "Nothing." he replied. "You have one year from today to 'activate' the visas (turn them in for temporary residency) before they expire and need reissuing. But we have to put a date, and I think July is a good time." That may not mean anything, but I hope he knows some inside information I do not know about the mandate!
This month, I will continue working on getting my CDL and begin gathering and preparing Bible Institute materials for Brazil. Bro. Brewer mentioned that a couple of individuals are interested in the institute and getting further training! So I will use this window of "down-time" while we wait to get a bunch of material sorted and ready.
I have had some more good conversations with Janez about the gospel. I do want to thank you for praying for that as well. Through my time with him, I have had great opportunities to share the gospel at length with different people, the three most recently being a Muslim, a Black Hebrew Israelite, and a catholic. All were great conversations that I am praying the Lord furthers in their hearts.
